The Covid lockdown came to effect at this point and brought the season to a close. The Sunday and Wednesday League matches as well as the Wednesday Cup and Plate competitions had luckily been completed, but the Sunday Cup and Plate as well as the various other competitions were not so lucky.
18 March - Wednesday Final tables adjusted with all penalties for late cards applied. This has had no effect on the final positions so a rethink may be in order for next season. In tests, ignoring games and frames scored when result not submitted had no effect either and a penalty of a point deduction affected the bottom of Division One only. Sunday has not had the penalties applied as there is no change again and most of the penalties apply to the bottom club anyway.
16 March - Final result in and Horse & Groom A have taken second place. N.B. Table now corrected!
15 March - Final matches tonight and things could go any way with the top four playing each other and all four games affecting final league positions.

Breaking News! In light of the present situation with Covid-19 and the possibility of pubs being closed we have decided to suspend things for the time being. This will affect the Sunday Cup Final and Plate semis and final as well as the Competitions. Amended dates for everything will be advised when the situation is a bit clearer.
11.20pm - Railway Club are top of the league. Second place still uncertain as no result in for that match yet.
14 March - After a query this morning we would like to point out that unless pubs are shut by covid-19 regulations, we will be playing the final Sunday league games tomorrow and hopefully the Cup and Plate matches in the following two weeks. Competitions are scheduled for 1 April at present but will be postponed or cancelled if necessary.
13 March - It was intended to launch into the Competitions next Wednesday (18 March). With the uncertainty caused by covid-19 we have decided to postpone things until Wednesday 1 April for now. Fixtures will be going online as soon as the website can be sorted and hopefully circumstances will allow us to commence in a couple of weeks. We will keep you all informed of any changes to the schedule if necessary.

Allstars Z have been disqualified from the Wednesday Team Cup for fielding an ineligible player at their Semi-final match on 22 January. The game has been awarded to the Wonford Inn and they will meet Allstars A in the final on Wednesday 4 March at the Devon Yeoman.

2 February - Cup venues for next week's Sunday team cup are being confirmed today. The Wednesday Team Plate semis draw is now online (venues to be confirmed). There will be an announcement about the Wednesday Team Cup final when details have been confirmed.
We are looking to hold an Individuals Competition to be played on Sunday nights after the season ends. This will be open to all Sunday and Wednesday players and should hopefully appeal to those prospective players either unable or unwilling to play in the main competitions held on Wednesdays. Whether or not we go ahead will depend on the number of entries, but we are hopeful. No Sunday doubles this season though. 6 November - The Half Moon will be playing from the Lucombe Oak unless there is a clash with the existing Lucombe Oak team, like this evening. The Half Moon v Allstars A fixture has been reversed tonight, along with the later fixture on 5 February. All fixture clashes will be sorted and opposition teams notified in good time as to what is happening.
Two teams have fallen foul of Rule 20 by not submitting results. A game has been deducted in each case. Correct details on the tables page.
The Competitions Secretary is presently out of action. The Cup draws will hopefully follow by the weekend as soon as the committee cobble something together.

15 September - Our Competitions Secretary has surpassed himself and produced the Wednesday Team Cup first round draw for 23 October. It is up on the Wednesday and Competition fixtures pages. We will remind everyone a bit nearer the date as well.
12 September - Result received for all four Prelim matches, three from winning teams and one from a losing side with three to the correct email address. Not so important for Cup results but must be correct for the league. You will be warned once!

20 August - Owing to the St Annes Well licencees moving to the Half Moon at Whipton, the pool teams have followed suit and will now be known as the Half Moon A and B teams. The Wednesday Fixtures Key download has been updated to reflect this. The online fixtures have been updated as well.

7 August - Despite a lot of testing, the website is not working quite as expected. Phone, Tablet, desktop and even different browsers are doing totally different things, not what was supposed to happen. The basics are working in most cases so we will stick with it for the present and try and coerce it into working as anticipated.
6 August - A slightly different website look for the new season. Everything is where it was apart from the team details which are now accessible from the relevant day as well as from the Contacts pages.
The info/fixture packs are being distributed this week. Hopefully every venue should receive them by the weekend.
25 July - Another update, this time to the fixture Key pages. New Pdf downloads available on this page.
24 July - Corrected Sunday fixtures now on the downloads. Should have been 22 & 29 Dec off, not 29 Dec & 5 Jan.
23 July - Fixtures for the season now pretty well finalised and available to download on this page. Each day is split into two pages like last season so both will need downloading for any particular day. Competitions are hinted at in the fixtures. Competitions on Wednesday will run after the Team Cup Final, precise dates will depend on entries. Sunday competitions will also be advised later if we go ahead with them.
An info pack will be delivered to each team sometime soon containing fixtures, missing signature forms if applicable, extra signing forms, rule and procedure changes, the last of the cards and receipts if they are still outstanding.

22 July - Following feedback from the last news below, we have decided to drop back to the ideas from earlier this month. Sunday league will be one round of fixtures from 13 October to 22 March. Wednesday league will be two divisions running from probably 11 September until 11 March.
To fill the gap until the Summer, Wednesday will then have competitions rounds every week through to sometime in June, dependent on entries. Sunday could have something similar as there is a proposal to separate the Individuals and Pairs into Sunday and Wednesday competitions. You would have to be registered for a Sunday team to enter the Sunday competitions, with a similar restriction applying to Wednesdays. The Captains Cup will remain open to both days but be played on Wednesdays.
Fixtures will appear online and be sent out once we have agreed them, hopefully this week.
19 July - All change again. Having presented fixtures for the coming season to the Committee, they have decided that the approximately six months both sessions would have lasted was too short. Therefore we are going for a single Wednesday division of twenty teams, with the Sunday teams playing a double fixture set. All games will commence at the start of September, through until June/July next year. Individuals, Pairs and Captains competitions will all be held on Tuesdays.
7 July - Fixtures are moving towards completion. It is looking like Wednesday will start with the Cup prelims on 2 October and the Sunday Cup prelims will be 13 October. Sunday Cup Final will be 22 March with the Wednesday Final on 25 March. The Wednesday dates could move slightly depending on what we do with the competitions.
We are toying with the idea of using the lack of games in April, May and June to possibly have all the rounds of the competitions then, with all rounds being played on a Wednesday. The Wednesday league start date may be brought forward then to ensure we can fit all the rounds in. We should hopefully have made a decision on this soon.
Don't forget the Finals Night, Wednesday 10 July at the Horse & Groom.
1 July - Over the last ten days we have gained one more Wednesday team, getting rid of any Bye. After a lot of trying to fill out the available time with a single 20 team Wednesday division, we decided that ten months of games may be a bit too much, running from end August until mid July. Therefore there will probably be two Wednesday divisions running from late September until late March with Sunday a single division running from October until late March. Further details to follow when finalised.
28 June - Allstars DT definitely not playing next season, 18 teams confirmed so far for Wednesday and nine on Sunday. Just Black Horse to hear from so we can finalise divisions and start dates (early September probable for Sunday).
20 June - After our meeting on Wednesday we have ten Sunday teams and nineteen Wednesday teams. Full lists on relevant day pages. Details are being sorted but it is looking like Wednesday will start in early September with Sunday commencing late September/Early October. More news at the weekend.
Finals Night will be on Wednesday 10 July, 7.45pm at the Horse & Groom.
16 June - Allstars Z, Kings and Seven Stars confirmed for Wednesday with Bishop Blaize and Bowling Green added to Sunday.
14 June - No sign of any "missing" registrations yet although there are a couple of probable new teams. Will try chasing the stragglers again!
11 June - A couple of the outstanding Sunday games are not being played as they would not affect the tables in any way. Still awaiting news of what is happening in the other Sunday and Wednesday games.

9 June - Sunday Team Cup Final tonight. Result online when received.
There are several outstanding postponed games in both Sunday divisions, however, the outcome of these games can only affect the final position of the bottom two teams in Division Two. No other teams will change places regardless of any results. Outstanding Wednesday games will only affect who finishes second in Division One.
We are still stuck on seven teams for Sunday which will probably mean only one division. It will definitely be a shorter Sunday season this coming winter, exactly how short will depend on how many more teams we can attract.
Wednesday is looking fairly healthy. We shall see exactly how many we have in the next week.
6 June - Many thanks to all who attended the AGM yesterday and registered their teams for next winter. We presently have 13 Wednesday teams and 7 Sunday ones. We have a meeting on June 19 during which divisions will be sorted, so you have until then to get your forms in. A list of teams registered for each day is on the relevant pages.
Full details of rule changes, etc, will be sent to each team soon. Briefly, all results now electronic, no postponements unless exceptional circumstances, no Mixed Pairs competion and a new Team Plate comp for those knocked out of the first round of the Team Cup. Rules page will be updated as soon as possible.

15 April - The Black Horse team inform us that they are unable to continue this season and have withdrawn. Tables and fixtures have been amended.
The Pre-AGM is fast approaching. Date is Wednesday 8 May at the Horse & Groom, Heavitree. If you have any proposals for rule changes for next season then please submit them, in writing, to the committee for scrutiny at the Pre-AGM. All proposed rule changes must go through this meeting to stand a chance of being presented to the AGM. Any nominations for committee posts should also be presented to this meeting as well.
